Please listen to my demo! This is my first mix and I would like you to hear it. I just want to give you some good music and that's it. You can scroll down and see the track list. I collected some information about music on the mixtape and believe me when I tell you this, it was very hard. Information is from their web sites (unless they don't have them, then it's translated from various languages, and it's also taken out of their discographies). I wasn't going for my emotional review, I hope I don't have to tell you that I like it muy mucho! I will be back soon with another mix... Until than, enjoy listening!

Luis Eduardo Bermúdez (January 25, 1912 in El Carmen de Bolívar – April 24, 1994 in Bogotá), was a Colombian musician, composer, and interpreter of Boleros, Cumbias, Porrosand other Colombian folkloric rhythms stylized by orchestras. He learned to play the flute, the trombone, the piccolo, the Tuba, the trumpet, the Saxophone and the clarinet. He became musical director for the A Numero uno de Cartagena orchestra, and later on the Orquesta del Caribe, in which he played many of his compositions.
Bermúdez and his orchestra recorded an album under the RCA Victor in Argentina, which contained the songs "Danza Negra", "Caprichito", "Cuca", "Cumbia Colombiana", "El Porro Buenos Aires", among others. The following year Bermúdez organized an orchestra with his name and moved to Medellín where he established his home.
Between 1952 and 1954 Bermúdez lived in Cuba and Mexico with his orchestra, mainly to promote the Colombian music overseas. Upon his return to Colombia, he was invited by the first Colombian Television to perform in their first broadcast on June 13, 1954.

10. Timo Lassy "African Rumble"
Timo Lassy has been a prominent figure in the field of contemporary jazz with firm roots and a strong rhythmic presence ever since the early 2000’s. His work with the Blue Note recording U-Street All Stars, the ever-so-successful The Five Corners Quintet, and of course his own ensemble, the Timo Lassy Band, has gained the man a steady international following in addition to domestic success. His 2007 debut “The Soul & Jazz of Timo Lassy” ranks among the most celebrated releases on the Ricky-Tick label, and Lassy himself, pre “Round Two”, is noted as a force to be reckoned with in any given setting.
When considering the message of Timo Lassy and his music, one cannot omit the realisation of just how deeply immersed in innovation yet easily approachable his sound is. The roots of jazz with attitude are there, but the execution is distinctively 21st century without sounding selfrighteously retro.
This is pure high-quality jazz “post” the “modern” age.

12. The Souljazz Orchestra "Mista President"
Since their creation in Ottawa, Canada, back in 2002, the Souljazz Orchestra have become one of the most potent bands in their field. Drawing on the rough, raw grooves of the '60s and '70s and effortlessly fusing soul, jazz, afro and latin rhythms within their music, the group have moved forward the blueprint of Fela, Fania and the funk in entirely new ways, while keeping the vital analogue grit intact. As a live unit, years of relentless touring have formed the band into an in-demand fixture at venues and festivals worldwide.
Having turned heads with two fine records on the Toronto-based Do Right! label, Freedom No Go Die (2006, featuring their breakthrough single "Mista President") and Manifesto(2008), the Souljazz Orchestra have recently released the hotly anticipated Rising Sunalbum on London-based Strut Records. Drawing on a wider canvas of styles than ever before, touching on spiritual jazz, deep African rhythms, and cinematic soundscapes, the Orchestra take their sound to new heights with stunning musicianship and virtuoso arrangements throughout. Long-time fan Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio One) has already declared this album to be their best yet.

13. The Hi-Fly Orchestra "Roda De Samba"
The heavy and rough rhythms are played by drums, double-bass, congas and piano, supporting the wonderful horn-lines by sax and trombone. The high musicality of the 6 members of THFO and the original sound of their instruments assure the most authentic perfomance with absolute high-energy playing!
THFO was founded in 2005 by Jerker Kluge and Florian Riedl. Though played by young musicians, who are influenced by all kinds of todays music, the intent was to create music that sounds as hip as the classic jazz records of the blue note era. Music to dance, without DJ´s, electronics or samples, just pure acoustic music!

14. Ebo Tylor "Peace On Earth"
Born in 1936, guitarist, composer, arranger, bandleader, and producer Ebo Taylor has been a vital figure on the Ghanaian music scene for over six decades. In the late '50s he was active in the influential highlife bands the Stargazers and the Broadway Dance Band, and in 1962 he took his own group, the Black Star Highlife Band, to London, which led to collaborations with Fela Kuti and other African musicians in Britain at the time. Returning to Ghana, he worked as a producer, crafting recordings for Pat Thomas, C.K. Mann, and others, as well as exploring his own projects, combining traditional Ghanaian material with Afro-beat, jazz, and funk rhythms to create his own recognizable sound in the '70s. Taylor's work became popular internationally with hip-hop producers in the 21st century, which led to the release of Love and Death on Strut Records in 2010, his first internationally distributed album. Its success prompted Strut to issue the stellar retrospective Life Stories: Highlife & Afrobeat Classics 1973-1980, in the spring of 2011.
