Please Listen To My Demo!

Please listen to my demo! This is my first mix and I would like you to hear it. I just want to give you some good music and that's it. You can scroll down and see the track list. I collected some information about music on the mixtape and believe me when I tell you this, it was very hard. Information is from their web sites (unless they don't have them, then it's translated from various languages, and it's also taken out of their discographies). I wasn't going for my emotional review, I hope I don't have to tell you that I like it muy mucho! I will be back soon with another mix... Until than, enjoy listening!

02. Orchestre Du Bawobab "Kelen Ati Len"

Orchestra Baobab is a Senegalese Afro-Cuban, Son, Wolof and Pachanga band. Organized in 1970, as a multi-ethnic, multi-national club band, Orchestre Baobab adapted the then current craze for Cuban Music (growing out of the Congolese Soukousstyle) in West Africa to Wolof Griot culture and the Mandinga musical traditions of the Casamance. One of the dominant African bands of the 1970s, they were overshadowed in the 1980s and broke up, only to reform in 2001 after interest in their recordings grew in Europe.

03. Lucho Bermudez y su Orquesta "Fiesta De Negros"

Luis Eduardo Bermúdez (January 25, 1912 in El Carmen de Bolívar – April 24, 1994 in Bogotá), was a Colombian musician, composer, and interpreter of Boleros, Cumbias, Porrosand other Colombian folkloric rhythms stylized by orchestras. He learned to play the flute, the trombone, the piccolo, the Tuba, the trumpet, the Saxophone and the clarinet. He became musical director for the A Numero uno de Cartagena orchestra, and later on the Orquesta del Caribe, in which he played many of his compositions.

Bermúdez and his orchestra recorded an album under the RCA Victor in Argentina, which contained the songs "Danza Negra", "Caprichito", "Cuca", "Cumbia Colombiana", "El Porro Buenos Aires", among others. The following year Bermúdez organized an orchestra with his name and moved to Medellín where he established his home.

Between 1952 and 1954 Bermúdez lived in Cuba and Mexico with his orchestra, mainly to promote the Colombian music overseas. Upon his return to Colombia, he was invited by the first Colombian Television to perform in their first broadcast on June 13, 1954.

05. Bad Jazz Troupe "Breakdown Treat"

You could probably live without bad Jazz, but you don´t want to miss the Bad Jazz Troupe! Disregarding any kind of mindless rule – musical or otherwise – this reckless band revamps traditional rhythms and styles with modern production techniques. The Bad Jazz Troupe brings together raw Afrobeat, Jazz and Funk elements with the latest achievements of the electronic revolution in the world of music. The result sounds fresh and original and yet reminds one of those days when Jazz was still something unruly, naughty and rebellious. What the Bad Jazz Troupe seeks to accomplish, after all, is nothing but bad jazz in the best sense.
